More Fish is a dynamic platform for dance education, creation and performance. We derive our name from the philosophy of leaving behind what doesn’t work, with the knowledge that there’s always more to be explored and discovered. The imagery of fish, ocean, and water embodies our ethos of adaptability and evolution.

Founded in 2022 by artistic director Doron Perk, the company debuted at Dixon Place, followed by its first season of Open Studios and Show & Tell series at Brooklyn Ballet and Mark O’Donnell Theater. These early projects brought dancers together to choreograph, teach, and perform for one another, breaking down hierarchies and cultivating generosity, trust, and cross-pollination within the community.

Since then, More Fish has premiered and toured original works at Dixon Place, The Joyce East, DANCE NOW ( Joe’s Pub), WestFest, Motion State Dance Festival, Mexico City International Contemporary Dance Festival, Dance Gallery Festival, Dumbo Dance Festival and Future Dance Festival at 92Y. More Fish Partnering classes are hosted weekly by Gibney education and at seasonal self produced weekend intensives. The company continues to expand its presence in New York and internationally, engaging audiences through both performance and education.

Today, More Fish explores new ways of community connection through open rehearsals, popup workshops, and collaborations with presenting partners. The company creates spaces that are vulnerable yet powerful, where artists share generously and give mutual feedback. Every class, performance, or community event, aims to entertain, expand minds, spark empathy, and contribute to the collectively shared cultural experience.
